PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a drive transmission mechanism made compact by suppressing an installation space, and also to provide a paper conveying device provided with it. SOLUTION: A pickup roller 13 is rotated by a first gear train comprising a drive gear 41, an intermediate gear 42, a two-stage gear 43, and a connection gear 45. A feed roller 14 is rotated by a second gear train comprising a drive gear 41, an intermediate gear 42, a two-stage gear 43, an intermediate gear 48, a two-stage gear 49, and a shaft gear 50. The pickup roller 13 is intermittently activated by on/off of an electromagnetic clutch 44 to perform paper feeding, and the feed roller 14 is rotated without receiving an influence of intermittent rotation action of a rotation shaft 46 since the intermediate gear 48 is rotatably pivoted on the rotation shaft 46.
