PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the accuracy of a gear shift of a bottom bracket assembly. SOLUTION: The bottom bracket assembly 1 for the bicycle has a shaft 5 having a longitudinal axis X-X extending along a predetermined direction; a pair of bearings 15, 20 constituted so as to rotatably support the shaft 5 on a housing box 10 of the bottom bracket assembly 1 provided on a frame of the bicycle; and a pair of adapter devices 30, 35 constituted so as to be assembled on both free ends of the housing box in a canti-lever beam form in order to support the bearings 15, 20 on an outer side of the housing box 10. The adapter device 30 has a first stopper member and a second stopper member arranged at both sides relative to the bearing 15, and the first stopper member and the second stopper member retains the bearing 15 in a space 54 having predetermined spreading in an axial direction in cooperation with the bearing 15.
