PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To correct a curl based on the detection of the amount of curl and the direction of a curl by a curl detection means. SOLUTION: A curl correcting device comprises a curl detection means 120 having a plurality of spur rollers for detecting the curl amount of a curled paper sheet and the curl direction, and a plurality of curl correcting means 140, 150 which are arranged on the downstream side in the paper sheet conveying direction of the curl detection means 120 to correct the curl by curving and deforming the curled paper sheet in the direction opposite to the curl generating direction. The curl of the paper sheet is corrected by selecting the curl correcting means to reduce the curl out of the plurality of curl correcting means 140, 150 based on the curl amount and the curl direction detected by the curl detection means 120.
