PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording apparatus capable of reminding a user not to forget to take out a recording medium even when printing is not performed and capable of preventing the recording medium from bein forgotten to be taken out. SOLUTION: The recording apparatus comprises a reading/writing means which performs read/write of the recording medium, a display means which displays the contents of the recording medium, a recording medium attachment detection means which detects that the recording medium is attached to the recording apparatus main body, and a forgotten take-out preventing means which prevents power-off when a power key is pressed in the state in which the recording medium is inserted in the recording apparatus main body and displays that the recording medium is forgotten to take out by the display means.
