<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data transmission device and method, and viewing environment control device and method, capable of achieving optimum illumination control of a viewing environment while restraining transmission-side data capacity and a receiver-side calculation amount by transmitting illumination control data on a predetermined segment basis. <P>SOLUTION: The data transmission device divides image data into segments each composed of an optional number of one or more frames, and transmits illumination value information representing a control value of viewing environment illumination in displaying the image data by adding the image data on a segment basis. A data reception device is provided with: a reception means receiving the illumination value information representing the control value of watching environment illumination in displaying the image data which is added to the image data on the basis of the segments formed by dividing the image data by the optional number of one or more frames; and a control means controlling illumination light of a lighting system installed around the display device. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
