A method of friction strengthening, at which a fast-revolving strengthening disk tool is introduced into a surface of workpiece for rapid heating and simultaneous deformation of the surface layers of the workpiece metal due to increase of the pressure in the contact area with subsequent rapid cooling due to heat removal inside the workpiece. Pressure in the contact area is created due to an adjustable force of clamping the disk tool and following direction of rotation of the disk tool relative to the direction of supply of the workpiece.
