PURPOSE: A hair styling wax composition is provided to improve setting powder with low content of water soluble polymer and ensure hair moisturization. CONSTITUTION: A hair styling wax composition contains 0.1-30 weight% of maltitol, 0.1-20 weight% of glyceryl tri-hydrogenated rosinate, 0.1-20 weight% of water soluble polymer, 15.0-95.0 weight% of water, 0.5-20.0 weight% of surfactant and 0.1-80.0 weight% of wax. The water soluble polymer is polyvinylpyrolidone/vinylacetate(PVP/VA) polymer, methacarylo ethylbetain/methacrylate copolymer, polyvinyl pyrollidone(PVP) or acrylate copolymer. The surfactant is non-ionic surfactant, anionic surfactant, cationic surfactant or ampholytic surfactant. The wax is natural wax or petroleum wax.
