Provided is a penetration test method that allows accurate determination of underground soil and geological structure. This penetration test method determines the underground soil of the land on which the penetration test is to be performed by: penetrating the ground with a penetration rod 7 by applying a load and rotation; acquiring test data (such as load, rotational load torque, penetration speed, correction torque, correction load, plastic potential coefficient, normalizing torque, normalizing Nsw, penetration energy, and the like) that vary in relation with the penetration of the penetration rod 7; and comparing the test data with geological structure data such as a boring histogram already obtained for a different piece of land that fulfills the same geologic conditions in the region in which the land on which the penetration test is to be performed belongs. Accurate, reliable soil determination can be made because the soil estimation by the test data is complemented and backed by the geological structure data. |
