PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching unit imparting an operator with appropriate sense of operation, even if it is combined with an operation knob capable of making rocking movement. SOLUTION: A pair of operation terminals (pressed parts 15c, 16c) of contact point operation bodies 15, 16 are made to protrude outward, from a lower case 12 having fixed contact members 35a to 35c on its bottom face. The contact point operation bodies 15, 16 make movable contacts 13, 14 capable of contacting with and separating from fixed contact members 35a to 35c move according to a pressing force, added in a direction of making the pressed parts 15c, 16c recede from each other. The contact point operation bodies 15, 16 are imparted with a restoring force that restores them toward the initial position by a plate spring member 17. Furthermore, the contact point operation bodies 15, 16 are imparted with an energizing force energizing the pressed parts 15c, 16c in the direction, in which the pressed parts 15c, 16c come mutually near each other by an elastic member 19 attached to the pressed parts 15c, 16c.
