PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To cope with high capacity by thickly molding the thickness of a hub even in the case of having a release member, and to avoid losing of moldability of the release member etc. SOLUTION: This recording tape cartridge 10 is provided with a braking member 80 for preventing the rotation of a reel 20 by engaging with an engaging part 48 formed within the hub 22 when the cartridge is not used, and a releasing member 90 which is provided between the bottom 28 of the hub 22 and the braking member 80, which has a plurality of leg parts 94 to be put through a plurality of through holes 29 formed on a reel gear and which is rotated with the reel 20 while disengaging engagement with an engaging part 48 by pushing up the braking member 80 by pushing up of the leg parts 94 by the driving gear of a driving apparatus when the cartridge is used. The leg part 94 is nearly "D"-shaped by a plane view where the side of an outer surface 94A facing the inner peripheral surface 22A of the hub 22 is made to be a plane, and the through holes 29 are nearly "D"-shaped by a plane view which the leg parts 94 can be put through.
