A method and an apparatus for authorizing activity in an IPTV(Internet Protocol TV) are provided to flexibly authorize the activity in IPTV environment, thereby efficiently performing electronic commerce in interactive IPTV environment. An activity request is received from a viewer(114) for IPTV activity. The activity request is checked through a filter for the viewer(114). If the activity exceeds the authorization limit in the filter, the activity request is refused. An exception request for exceeding the authorization limit in the filter is received. The exception request is supplied to an account manager(110) for authorization. The authorization is notified to the viewer(114).
