PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a housing drum which can be used by drawing the tip side of an insertion part wound around a drum part while preventing the insertion part from extremely bending and being damaged even if the insertion part is loosened. SOLUTION: The housing drum is configured to house the flexible thin and long insertion part 2a having an examining means on the tip side, and is equipped with: a frame part 31; the nearly columnar drum part 30 which is supported to axially rotate by the frame part 31 and whose outer circumferential surface 30a the insertion part 2a is wound around; and a feeding means 40 which has a guide member 41 provided on the side of the outer circumferential surface 30a of the drum part 30 to have a gap 41a between the guide member 41 and the insertion part 2a wound around the drum part 30, and traveling interlocked with the rotation of the drum part 30 to a direction nearly parallel with the tangential direction of the outer circumferential surface 30a of the drum part 30.
