PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide toner particles having high-speed fixing properties under low energy and low pressure and such properties as to ensure low toner consumption, and a process of preparing the same. SOLUTION: The hollow toner has a hollow sphere shape, wherein an outer layer surrounding the hollow sphere includes a polymer, a wax and a pigment. The hollow toner is prepared by dropping a mixed liquid, obtained by dispersing a polymerizable monomer, a wax, a pigment and a polymerization initiator in a hydrocarbon solvent, into an aqueous dispersion medium through pores in a membrane under pressure and polymerizing formed liquid droplets.
