PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a safe and bland lipase inhibitor in a field of an external preparation for the skin such as a cosmetic, a quasi-drug and a medicine, i.e. the lipase inhibitor inhibiting the degradation of sebum by Propionibacterium acnes of indigenous bacteria on the skin to prevent/ameliorate acne and rough skin and to prevent/ameliorate body odor because of exhibiting inhibitory effects on lipase originated from the Propionibacterium acnes. SOLUTION: The lipase inhibitor contains water-soluble saccharides having two or more molecules of saccharides bonded by aβbond. Preferably, the sugar is glucose, and theβbond is aβ1-4 glucoside bond.
