<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal panel and a liquid crystal display device having a combination type polarizing plate that can be formed into a large area and that contributes to improvement in a viewing angle. <P>SOLUTION: The liquid crystal panel 100 comprises: a liquid crystal cell 9; one polarizing plate disposed in one surface side of the liquid crystal cell; a first optical layered material (A) disposed between the liquid crystal cell and the one polarizing plate and having an optical compensation layer 38 with an index ellipsoid satisfying nx=nz>ny; the other polarizing plate disposed in the other surface side of the liquid crystal cell; and a second optical laminate (B) disposed between the liquid crystal cell and the other polarizing plate and having an optical compensation layer 37 with an index ellipsoid satisfying nx=ny<nz. At least one of the first and second optical laminates comprises a combination-type polarizing plate having a first polarizing plate 1 and a second polarizing plate 2 disposed parallel to each other with at least one pair of end faces opposing to each other on the opposite side of the optical compensation layer to the liquid crystal cell. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT |
