FIELD: agriculture. ^ SUBSTANCE: method is executed when guinea fowls are 4 weeks old. Proportionality of constitution, condition of legs and feathering are visually inspected, live mass of bird is measured. Additionally length of the third rudder is measured in tail. Individuals are selected with length of the third rudder not less than 70 mm. Proposed method provides for growth of live mass of breed compared to other methods by 3.4%, increased yield of 1st category carcasses by 6.2-7.1%. ^ EFFECT: selection of guinea fowls at earlier age also makes it possible to more efficiently use premises for breeder guinea fowls, to timely transfer them to limited feeding, which helps to reduce expenses for growth of young birds and to increase productivity of mature birds. ^ 3 tbl |
