摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the strength of a region formed of a sealing material and to keep a cell gap in the vicinity of the region in a fixed thickness. SOLUTION: A liquid crystal display apparatus has an element substrate and a color filter substrate. The element substrate has a plurality of elements, that is, a frame-shaped sealing part, an injection port, a plurality of columnar spacers and a plurality of projecting parts which are simultaneously formed by etching a part the element substrate. The element substrate and the color filter substrate are stuck to each other via the frame-shaped sealing part to be an element of the element substrate and a liquid crystal is encapsulated in the inner part thereof. An adhesive is applied in an adequate position on the frame-shaped sealing part. According to the liquid crystal display, since the frame-shaped sealing part composed of glass and the like, strength on the periphery of the frame-shaped sealing part, that is on the periphery of the outer peripheral part of the liquid crystal display can be enhanced and the thickness of the cell gap on the periphery can be fixedly maintained.
