<p>Disclosed is a water-in-oil emulsified sunscreen cosmetic composition exhibiting sufficiently excellent ultraviolet-shielding effect, while having an excellent effect of preventing/suppressing discoloration (discoloration to red). Specifically disclosed is a water-in-oil emulsified sunscreen cosmetic composition characterized by containing (a) octocrylene preferably in an amount of 0.2-15% by mass, (b) zinc oxide subjected to a hydrophobilizing treatment (such as a treatment with a silane coupling agent or a fatty acid dextrin) preferably in an amount of 0.2-30% by mass, (c) a cationic surface active agent (such as distearyl dimethyl ammonium chloride), and (d) silica.</p>
