An apparatus and a method for displaying an ultrasound image are provided to reduce costs by overlapping two-dimensional ultrasonic images to form a three-dimensional ultrasonic image. A method for displaying an ultrasonic image includes the steps of: forming a plurality of two-dimensional ultrasonic images based on ultrasonic echo signals which are sequentially applied from an object(S210); selecting the predetermined number of continuous two-dimensional ultrasonic images among the plurality of two-dimensional ultrasonic images(S220); forming a three-dimensional ultrasonic image by overlapping the selected two-dimensional ultrasonic images(S230); setting at least one line on the three-dimensional ultrasonic image, and selecting a cross section by cutting the three-dimensional ultrasonic image along the set line(S250); and rendering and displaying the selected cross section(S260).
