PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a grave simple in structure despite the fact that a shelf part can be so moved that a cinerary can be placed thereon and enabling a family to be used without inconvenience over a long period across the generations. SOLUTION: This grave comprises a charnel house having, therein, a charnel room in which the cinerary is contained and a cinerary loading base stored in the charnel room. The charnel house comprises side walls surrounding the charnel room and joist stone brought into contact with the lower end of the side walls and closing the lower side of the charnel room. The charnel house has an opening allowing the inside and the outside of the charnel room to communicate with each other at the front side. The joist stone is so formed that its upper end surface is generally horizontal. The cinerary loading base comprises the shelf part on which the cinerary is placed and leg parts extending downward from one or both side surface ends of the shelf part. A pulley in contact with the upper end surface of the joist stone s attached to the lower end surface of the leg part. The side end surfaces of the shelf part and the leg part are opposed to each other at a slight interval from the inner wall surface of the side wall on the side surface side.
