PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for tires which can be vulcanized without containing stearic acid and zinc oxide, is environmentally friendly, and can respond even to future depletion of oil resources. SOLUTION: The vulcanizable rubber composition for tires comprises: 20-120 parts by weight of silica based on 100 parts by weight of diene rubber; and 1-20 parts by weight of a silane coupling agent, 1-20 parts by weight of an amino acid and 0.5-8 parts by weight of sulfur, based on 100 parts by weight of the silica, and is free from a vulcanization accelerator and zinc oxide.
