PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for triggering polling in a radio communication system, and an apparatus. SOLUTION: The method includes a step of triggering a polling function at a transmission end and polling a data transmission state at a receiving end. The RLC (radio link control) entity at the transmission end supports a trigger mechanism of the last PDU (protocol data unit) and a polling timer, and does not support the trigger mechanism of a timer base.
