<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce power consumption by using operating mode detection circuits of the same configuration without supplying a mode signal showing whether to be a standby state from the outside and without depending upon the value of a power supply potential in the standby state. <P>SOLUTION: The semiconductor integrated circuit device includes: a circuit block 11A connected to a power supply line; an AND gate 12A as a switch circuit; a circuit block 11B to which the power supply line is connected through the switch circuit 12A; and an operating mode detection circuit 20A for detecting a one-cycle variation in a potential of the power supply line in each cycle of a clock signal CLKA, setting a signal Vdn0 to a high level when the variation exceeds a negative threshold -ΔV while setting a signal Vup0 to a high level when the variation exceedsΔV, and turning off the switch circuit 12A when (M-m) cycles or more exist during M cycles of CLKA and the signal Vdn0 is at a high level while turning on the switch circuit 12A when (K-k) cycles or more exist during K cycles of CLKA and the signal Vup0 is at a high level. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p> |
