摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect the concentration of ethanol gas without use of any light source by utilizing a face of a human being as a light source. <P>SOLUTION: The gas detecting apparatus includes: an optical filter 50 for vapor which allows the transmission of an infrared light having a wavelength band including an absorption spectrum derived from vapor in an absorption spectrum generated by interaction with infrared light emitted from the face of human being; and a photoelectric conversion element 52 for vapor which converts the infrared light transmitted through the optical filter 50 for vapor into electric signals. The concentration of ethanol gas is detected based on the electric signals converted by the conversion element 52 for vapor and the concentration of ethanol gas detected by an ethanol sensor. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2009,JPO&INPIT</p>
