RECEIVER INCLUDING MULTI-PATH EQUALIZER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To preferentially receive/reproduce a signal from a desired broadcast station of a high reception level while reducing multi-path distortion using a multi-path equalizer.

SOLUTION: An FM receiver includes: a receiving unit which receives a signal from a broadcast station and outputs the received signal; an equalizer which equalizes the received signal using a computed weight to obtain an equalized output signal; a demodulator which demodulates the equalized output signal to reproduce the signal from the broadcast station; a detection unit which observes a magnitude of the computed weight to detect a capture state for non-desired broadcast stations and generates a capture detecting signal; and a weight setting unit which sets the computed weight to the equalizer normally, and sets a specific weight for passing through the equalizer temporarily when the capture detecting signal is generated.
