PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an open/close mechanism for a display device, capable of suppressing the entry of a foreign substance and suppressing the increase of device size.SOLUTION: An opening/closing mechanism for a display device comprises: an opening section 9 that communicates an inside of a device casing 10 with an outside thereof; a display section 20 that moves through the opening section 9; and a cover 40 that opens/closes the opening section 9. The display section 20 moves between a position when the display section is not used and accommodated within the device casing 10 and a position when the display section is used and deployed to the outside of the device casing 10. The cover 40 makes a reciprocating motion on a trajectory T set such that the cover can move from one side of the opening section 9 into the other side thereof within the device casing 10. This cover 40 has a first region 41 and a second region 42. The first region 41 is provided at a position for closing the opening section 9 from one side when the display section 20 is not used. The second region 42 is provided at a position for closing the opening section 9 from the other side when the display section 20 is used.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
