FIELD: personal usage items.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to absorbent article (1) in form of a liner or pad, used during incontinence, having longitudinal side edges (2, 3) and transverse end edges (4, 5) and comprising fluid-permeable upper sheet (8), back sheet (9) impermeable for fluid media and absorbent core (10) located between upper sheet (8) and back sheet (9). Absorbent core (10) comprises first absorbing layer (11), having hole (12) passing through it, and structural element (13) for controlling fluid medium flow, arranged between said first absorbent layer (11) and said back sheet (9). Elastic element (16) is located along each longitudinal side edge (2, 3) of absorbent article (1). First absorbent layer (11) is defined in longitudinal direction of front part (6) and defined in longitudinal direction of rear part (7) and narrow transverse transition zone (14) located between said front part (6) and rear part (7). Width of narrow transverse transition zone (14) is 50-75 % of maximum defined across width of front part (6) of first absorbent layer (11), and 20-50 % of defined length in longitudinal direction of hole (12) is located in front part (6) of first absorbent layer (11). Front part (6) of first absorbent layer (11) is 20-40 % of complete length defined in longitudinal direction of first absorbent layer (11).
