PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fixing device which is capable of increasing the consumption efficiency of energy, while shortening a warm-up time and preventing the service life of a heating source from being shortened and the heating source from being damaged. SOLUTION: In the fixing device passing a record medium carrying an unfixed toner image through the press-contact portion of a heating roll 3 heated by the heating source with a pressure roll, to fix the unfixed toner image on the record medium, the heating roll 3 is formed into a hollow cylindrical shape and at least one or more heating sources 2 are disposed in the heating roll 3. A heat shield member 21 for shielding the fact that heat is leaked from an opening to the outside is provided in the opening of the end portion of the heating roll and the heat shield member 21 is configured so as to be arranged in a non-contact state with the heating roll 3 and the heating source 2.
