PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electric power steering device capable of estimating an ambient temperature and limiting a current without using any ambient temperature detection means. SOLUTION: The electric power steering device comprises a motor 1 for assisting a steering force of a driver, a controller for determining and controlling a conductive quantity of the motor 1, and a vehicle speed detection means 12, and further comprises an ambient temperature estimating means 15 receiving a vehicle speed signal from the vehicle speed detection means 12 which limits the current quantity conducted to the motor 1 following an output from the ambient temperature estimating means 15.
