The front part of a movable conveyor 42 of a post-adhesive-application conveyor 33 (a sliding extendable conveyor) is provided with non-driven rollers 42d (guided rollers) arranged at an incline towards a reference plane (specification) 42e by a prescribed angle with respect to the width direction, such that the leading end of a single panel is guided towards the reference plane (specification) 42e (one side) of the movable conveyor 42. When a single panel is detected by a single-panel detection sensor 45 (single-panel detection means), a post-adhesive-application conveyor controller 47 (sliding movement control means) retracts the extended movable conveyor 42 in the contraction direction with drive rollers 42a of the movable conveyor 42 having been kept in forward-rotation drive. Thereby provided are: a single panel assembly apparatus of overall simple configuration that allows single panels to be automatically aligned and stacked at a prescribed location on a transport conveyor without requiring a large space; and a single panel assembly method in which the apparatus is employed.
