PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an amorphous cellulose composition, the method being more effective than conventional methods.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing an amorphous cellulose composition includes: a step of previously mixing a cellulose-containing material with a nonionic surfactant; and a step of preparing an amorphous cellulose composition by kneading and shearing a resultant mixed material using butch type kneader and/or a twin-screw kneading extruder.SELECTED DRAWING: None
