PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water heater capable of appropriately supplying even a small flow volume of hot water while enabling supply of a large flow volume of hot water.SOLUTION: A water heater comprises: a plurality of hot water supply units (a hot water storage tank 1 and heat exchangers 5) arranged in parallel; a plurality of hot water supply paths branching off supplied water from a water supply source to supply the water to the respective hot water supply units, and merging together the hot water from the respective hot water supply units to supply the hot water to a hot water supply terminal (hot water supply terminal 8); a flow volume control mechanism (flow volume control valves 14a and 14b) controlling flow volumes of the respective hot water supply paths; functional components (pumps 13a and 13b or flow volume sensors 12a and 12b) used to process (control or measure) states of the supplied water or hot water flowing in the respective hot water supply paths; and an arithmetic control unit controlling the flow volume control mechanism so that the flow volumes of the respective hot water supply paths are those according to a processable range of the functional components. |
