Provided is a metal scrap compressor configured so as to make it possible to easily deal with the worn area caused by the sliding of a discharge plunger for discharging a compressed and molded article, without exchanging a base member that has a surface across which the discharge plunger is driven back and forth. A metal scrap compressor, wherein: a gate cylinder device is provided with a discharge plunger that moves back and forth across the surface of a base member positioned on a stand in order to discharge a compressed and molded article; and a bottom plate comprising a material that differs from that constituting the discharge plunger is exchangeably provided between the base member surface and the discharge plunger in at least the region on the surface of the base member across which the bottom surface of the discharge plunger slides. |
