PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a heat sensitive recording material, provided with a protective layer excellent in transparency, glossiness, heat resistant property, light resistant property, lubricity, lubricating property, resistance to scuffing and resistance to water while high in the color development of a picture without any adhesion or gas adhesion to a thermal head or the like. SOLUTION: A heat sensitive recording material is provided with at least one layer of heat sensitive recording layer and a protective layer containing aqueous silicone graft polymer on the substrate of the same. In this case, the aqueous silicone graft polymer contains (A) 25-60 wt% of silicone macromonomer having the number-average molecular weight of 1000-5000, (B) 10-30 wt% of ethylenic double-bond-containing monomer having carboxyl group, (C) 10-65 wt% of monomer capable of being co-polymerized with these constituents as co-polymerized constituents while 50% or more of carboxyl group in the molecular construction is neutralized by organic or inorganic base and the weight-average molecular weight is specified to be more than 20,000 while the glass transition temperature of the same is specified to be at least 60 deg.C. |
