Provided a bisindenyl compound to prepare a methylene-bridged biscyclopentadienyl compound simply and economically with a high yield, a catalyst containing the compound, and a method for preparing an olefin polymer by using the catalyst. A bisindenyl compound is represented by methylene bis(1-Ind)M^1R^11R^12, wherein Ind is an indenyl derivative; M^1 is an element of group of IIIb, IVb, Vb or VIb in the periodic table; R^11 and R^12 are identical or different each other and are H, a halogen atom, or a C1-C40 radical. The catalyst comprises the bisindenyl compound and at least one co-catalyst. |
