A portable wireless communication device (100) includes antenna elements (101, 102); a cellular phone signal processing circuit (151); a DTV tuner (152) for receiving a lower frequency signal and a higher frequency signal of DTV; impedance matching circuits (111, 113) for the cellular phone signal processing circuit (151); and impedance matching circuits (112, 114) for the DTV tuner (152) for receiving the DTV lower frequency signal and the DTV higher frequency signal. A switch (141) selects either the DTV lower frequency signal or the DTV higher frequency signal and performs switching to output the selected signal to the DTV tuner (152). A tuner controller (160) controls the switch (141) to select the DTV higher frequency signal by using the antenna element (102) for transmission from the cellular phone signal processing circuit (151).
