PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a single-screw two-rudder system with an improved stopping performance in a single-screw two-rudder system of a large vessel. SOLUTION: This system comprises a single-screw propeller 2 of a stern 1, rudder hones 3 of both boards, a pair of rudders 5 supported by the rudder hones 3 via a rudder shaft 4, a vertical fin 7 supported between the rudder hones 3 via a vertical fin shaft 6, and a vertical fin rotation mechanism rotating the vertical fin shaft 6. At the time of stopping or decelerating the vessel, control means opens a pair of rudder rear ends 5c outward by the rudder rotation mechanism, and closes a cavity inside the rudder hones 3 of both boards generated by a notch C between a pair of rudder top front edges 5a with the vertical fin rotation mechanism by directing the vertical fin 7 approximately rightward and leftward.
