摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a spark plug for an internal combustion engine, capable of carrying out efficiently adjustment of a spark discharge gap with high precision. SOLUTION: The method is for manufacturing the spark plug, comprising a center electrode 11, an insulator, a housing, and a ground electrode 14. For adjusting the size of the spark discharge gap 10, the spark discharge gap 10 is set in a such a state that its size Gn is larger than a target value G0, and pushing action to push the ground electrode 14 toward the center electrode 11 by a pressure hammer is repeated. Control method for the pushing action by the pressure hammer is changed depending on whether the ground electrode 14 exists in a rough processing zone A or in a finishing processing zone B. When the ground electrode 14 is in the finishing processing zone B, pushing pressure quantity Kb by one-time pushing action is set to be smaller than when it is in the rough processing zone (Kb<ka), and further, pushing quantity Kb is set to a constant value.
