摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a valve spring device capable of shortening the length in the axial direction, while restraining surging. SOLUTION: This valve spring device 16A is provided for energizing a valve 15 arranged in a port 11 of a cylinder head 10 in the valve closing direction, and has a first coil spring 41 and a second coil spring 42 mutually combined in series. The inside diameter (a coil inside diameter) of the second coil spring 42 is larger than the outside diameter (a coil outside diameter) of the first coil spring 41. A "telescopic" combination spring is constituted by inserting a part in the axis X direction including an end part 41c of the first coil spring 42 inside the second coil spring 42. The end part 41c of the first coil spring 41 and an end part 42b of the second coil spring 42 are connected by a connecting member 43. The first coil spring 41 and the second coil spring 42 are arranged in series between the cylinder head 10 and a retainer 22 in a state of being compressed in the axis X direction.
