An AgZnO electric contact material does not contain cadmium harmful to the human body or environment and is produced by internal oxidation to disperse ZnO minutely uniformly. An AgZnO electric contact material is composed of Zn 5.0~15 weight%, Cu 0.1~3.0 weight%, Mn 0.1~0.5 weight%, Sb 0.05~0.5 weight%, and the remnant Ag. The AgZnO electric contact material is manufactured by the steps of casting Ag, Zn, and Cu, extruding it, making the extruded product into pieces, performing internal oxidation of the pieces at the temperature of 750°C and the oxygen pressure of 5kg/cm^2 for 48 hours, cold- and hot-press molding the oxidized pieces into billet, and then extruding the billet in order to minutely disperse ZnO. |
