THE RAILWAY TURNOUT DETECTION SYSTEM AND THE METHOD OF DETECTING RAILWAY TURNOUT

A railway turnout detection system and a method for detecting a railway turnout are provided to detect a railway turnout of a train by installing an eddy current sensor module at a lower part of the train. A railway turnout detection system includes a plurality of eddy current sensors(110-160) and a data processing unit. The eddy current sensors are used for measuring response signals while a train is moved along a branched line of a railway. The data processing unit collects the response signals sensed through the eddy current sensors. The data processing unit determines a branching direction of the train. The eddy current sensors are arranged in a constant interval. The eddy current sensors are formed at the lower part of the train in a direction perpendicular to a traveling direction of the train.
