An electrodialysis unit comprising: a cathode, an anode, a membrane between the cathode and the anode, a cathode flow path for water flow along the membrane on the cathode side, an anode flow path for water flow along the membrane on the anode side, and a reaction zone formed between the membrane and the cathode where the cathode faces the anode, wherein the cathode flow path is arranged for laminar flow in the reaction zone and wherein the electrodialysis unit comprises flow conditioning elements arranged to promote laminar flow in the incoming water flow to the cathode flow path. 32a Fig. 2 |
