PURPOSE: A dehumidification device of an airconditioner is provided to prevent a room temperature from dropping below the set temperature on a highly humid day and perform a dehumidification of the room effectively. CONSTITUTION: The dehumidification device of an airconditioner comprises; a compressor(10) to compress coolant to a high pressure, high temperature state, a condenser(16) to cool off the coolant, a capillary tube(26) to expand the coolant passing from the condenser(6) to the distribution tube(22), a heat exchanger(12) to cool the room by the exchange of heat with the indoor unit as the expanded coolant passes the capillary tube(26), a by-pass tube(28) to pass part of the coolant directly to the heat exchanger(12) without passing through the capillary tube(26) and a solenoid valve(30) to intermit the flow of the coolant.
