An apparatus and a method for manufacturing an LCD are provided to prevent defective printing caused by a shift of an alignment liquid printing pattern at an early stage by detecting a gradual shifting phenomenon of an alignment liquid printing pattern printed on a substrate in real time at an early stage, and thus correcting a location of alignment liquid printing. A printing device(210) prints an alignment liquid pattern onto a substrate. A drying device(230) hardens the alignment liquid pattern printed on the substrate. A first test device detects a pattern shift signal(PSS) corresponding to shifting of the alignment liquid printing pattern hardened by the drying device. A controller controls the printing device in response to the pattern shift signal to correct a location of the alignment liquid printing. |
