BACKLIGHT ASSEMBLY AND DISPLAY DEVICE HAVING THE SAME

A backlight assembly and a display device including the same are provided to improve brightness uniformity by guiding light generated from a lamp to the upside using a light guide member surrounding a surface of the lamp. A receiving container(100) includes a bottom portion and a side portion, and defines a receiving space. A lamp(200) is disposed in the receiving space, and generates light. A light guide member(400) surrounds a surface of the lamp to define a plurality of total reflection paths, and guides light generated from the lamp to an upper portion of the receiving container through the total-reflection paths. The light guide member includes a plurality of optical fibers to define the total reflection paths.
