<p>A network management system (510), includes terminal, terminal network management unit (501), access device and access device network management unit (505), the terminal network management unit (501) manages the management information of the layers above the link layer of the terminals directly, and manages the management information associated with physical layer and link layer of the terminal indirectly, the said indirect management information is transferred by the access device network management unit (505), the access device transfers the interactive information between the terminal and the access device network management unit (505), and the access device network management unit (505) transfers the management information associated with physical layer and link layer of the terminal to the terminal network management unit (501). The invention also includes a method for realizing network management, which improves the reliability of the network management system (510), by the terminal network management unit (501) manages the terminals directly and indirectly, realizes the different management of the terminals, and overcomes the shortcoming of the direct network management system and indirect network management system in the prior art.</p> |
