Disclosed is a lubricant composition which is excellent in oxidation stability and low-temperature fluidity. Specifically disclosed is a lubricant composition characterized by using, as a base oil, a diester which is obtained from a linear dihydric alcohol containing 6-12 carbon atoms and having a hydroxy group at respective carbon atoms at both ends and a branched-chain saturated monovalent fatty acid containing 6-12 carbon atoms.
