PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a wet nonwoven fabric which uses a non-antimony based polymerization catalyst in producing a polyester copolymer suitably used for a thermally adherent composite binder fiber and a latent crimping composite fiber. SOLUTION: A low melting point polyester resin uses terephthalic acid as the main acid component and ethylene glycol and 1,4-butanediol at a molar ratio of 80/20 to 30/70 as the main diol components and comprises 30-250 ppm magnesium compound having a coated layer formed consisting of titanic acid as a polymerization catalyst. The thermally adherent composite binder fiber comprises this polyester resin. A polyester resin for the latent crimping composite fiber uses 1-12 mol% isophthalic acid and 1-6 mol% isophthalic acid having a metal salt sulfonate group and comprises 30-250 ppm magnesium compound having a coated layer formed consisting of titanic acid. The latent crimping composite fiber comprises one of the polyester resins for the thermally adherent composite binder fiber and the polyester resin for the latent crimping composite fiber, and the wet nonwoven fabric uses the thermally adherent composite binder fiber and the latent crimping composite fiber.
