PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reader which allows a CCD to be easily mounted thereon and prevents a change in positional accuracy of an imaging surface of the CCD even when a CCD board is deformed by heat. SOLUTION: An abutted surface 51f is provided on a reverse surface side in a peripheral part of a window part 51e provided in the center of a CCD mounting plate 51. Both end parts of the CCD 14 in a front-and rear direction are pressed against the abutted surface 51f by a pressure part 55c of an energizing member 55 from a reverse surface 14b and an mounting part 55a of the energizing member 55 is fixed with a fastening screw 56 onto the surface 51c of the CCD mounting plate 51. The CCD board 50 is soldered to a lead wire 14d of the CCD 14. Even when the CCD board 50 is deformed by heat, the CCD 14 is not deformed, so that the positional accuracy of the imaging surface 14c being a positioning surface with respect to an image-forming lens 13 is kept high.
