A method for controlling an electronic parking brake system is provided to sense the gradient of a road according to wheel braking pressure in no need of sensors and to output necessary brake holding force. A method for controlling an electronic parking brake system comprises the following steps of: inputting wheel braking pressure when a brake pedal is on and sensing the gradient of a road based on the wheel braking pressure(S200); producing necessary brake holding force for parking according to the gradient of the road(S300); and delivering the produced necessary brake holding force for parking through a power transmission member(S400). |
